For a small mountain town, Jasper offers a surprising variety and number of restaurants for the visitor. Whatever your taste, you are certain the find the appropriate restaurant to suit your palate as Jasper features everything from gourmet and fine dining to casual and fast food. 

Olive Bistro JasperThere are a variety of Ethnic restaurants to choose from. These include Cassio’s Italian Restaurant in the Whistler’s Inn which  features many authentic Italian dishes. The Cassios have been operating Italian restaurants since 1947! Miss Italia Ristorante is another long time Italian restaurant in Jasper and they take pride in their romantic and warm atmosphere which serves up authentic Italian favourites. Superb Greek dishes and steaks are served at Something Else Restaurant who have been a fixture in Jasper for over 27 years. Korean cuisine is featured at Kimchi House on Patricia Street, Their specialties include marinated beef ribs, hot and spicy chicken, assorted seafood with vegetables and boiling hot pots (including spicy kimchi and pork). Experience the flavours of Asia including many appetizers, soups and entrees at the Cantonese Restaurant on Connaught Drive. Sayuri Japanese Restaurant is Jasper's only Japanese Restaurant and serves a variety of sushi rolls, house specialties and bento boxes and of special interest is their sushi bar.

Raven-Bistro JA14Many excellent restaurants are located in the hotels and this includes Becker’s Gourmet Restaurant on the Icefield Parkway. This is a truly Canadian experience with various exotic game to tantalize your palate. The Inn Grill at the Best Western Jasper Inn features a casual, contemporary atmosphere with a menu full of fresh, creative offerings. The heritage of Jasper is nowhere more evident than in The Moose’s Nook at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Enjoy an evening of true Canadian fine dining as you sit by a roaring fire, listen to live music and savour creative regional cuisine.

Fiddle River Restaurant JasperAt the historic Athabasca Hotel, O'Sheas Restaurant offers the charm and ambiance of days of old complimented with an array of comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The award-winning Walter's Restaurant at the Sawridge Inn features a wide array of fine dining Canadian inspired dishes with nuances of native cuisine.

Dining with fabulous views is also available and there is no better view than the Treeline Restaurant at the Jasper Skytram, atop Whistlers Mountain. Overlooking Lac Beauvert with stunning views of Mount Edith Cavell, and Whistlers Mountain, Orso Trattoria offers northern Italian fare.

Cavells Jasper Park LodgeJasper also has many superb restaurants throughout the downtown area.  The Olive Bistro & Lounge features an eclectic entree list, as well as a tasty selecting of small sharing plates. They also feature live music on select evenings and summer patio dining. Raven Bistro has an interesting and quaint decor and a menu that would please the most discerning diner. Fiddle River Restaurant is Jasper's premier fresh seafood restaurant, but the menu also includes wild game and Alberta AAA beef. Evil Dave’s Grill is a funky, laid back, locally owned restaurant that features a globally inspired menu. Montana’s BBQ and Bar is the home of Canadian BBQ featuring smoked ribs, juicy burgers, fire-grilled steaks and more.

Cafes and Coffee shops are in abundance in Jasper. Inside the environmental award-winning Coin Clean Laundry sits the SnowDome Coffee Bar. This fun and funky coffee bar is highlighted in Joseph Rosendo’s PBS Television Series Travelscope for serving the best cup of coffee in town.

SmittysNot to be outdone by the cafes, Maligne Chalet, overlooking Maligne Lake features afternoon tea and is very charming and down to earth; it’s rustic ambience set by Canadian-sized scones and overly sweet jams. A long-time family favourite, open 7 days a week, Smitty’s features an extensive menu with over 150 selections to choose from.

Jasper also a number of pubs to visit and ask any local and they will tell you to go to the Whistle Stop Pub. Lots of wood and a huge fireplace make it easy to kick back and with eleven draughts on tap there’s always something new to try!
