DOGSLEDDING You will never forget the thrilling experience of being pulled across the frozen landscape by a team of baying huskies.

ICE SKATING The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel operates the Waldhaus Rink, accessed from the Bow Falls parking lot. There’s also the Snow Days Skating Rink in downtown Banff (Dec to Feb). The Fenlands, Banff's recreation centre, features two indoor ice sheets for skating and hockey.

NORDIC SKIING There are easy-to-moderate cross-country ski trails in Banff. In Lake Louise, try Moraine Lake Road or the Bow River Loop. In Kananaskis, try the Peter Lougheed, Chester or Mount Shark trail systems. There’s also world-class facilities at the Canmore Nordic Centre.

SKIING & SNOWBOARDING Banff is an essential downhill destination. Four world-class ski resorts are within an hour from town, including Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Nakiska.
