Waldport
The town of Waldport sits at the mouth of Alsea Bay, and is an easy commute from Corvallis and other major inland cities.
Waldport is definitely the place to be if you enjoy watersports, hiking or cycling...or if you just like to wander around on the beach, but it’s best known for its crabbing and fishing opportunities. More than 5,000 vessels frequent Alsea Bay and River every year either to catch Dungeness crabs or to take advantage of the Chinook salmon season.
Pay a visit to the Alsea Bay Interpretive Center (620 NW Spring Street next to the bridge),where you can find information on the history of the Alsea Bay Bridge as well as other area landmarks.
