BUMPER BOATS & BUMPER CARS  While mini-golf is a big draw, Paraside Fun Park and Riptide Lagoon Adventure Park have lots more to offer! At Paradise Fun Park, you can choose from colourful bumper boats, each complete with water cannons. At Riptide Lagoon Adventure Golf, check out their laser tag bumper cars!

LIONS VENTURE LAND PLAYGROUND  At Parksville Community Park, find tennis courts, ball parks, a lacrosse box, picnic areas, fields for kite flying, a huge playground and an impressive water park.

MINI GOLF  Oceanside just may be the mini-golf capital of Vancouver Island! The region is home to five uniquely themed courses, each with its own set of whimsical obstacles, tricky contours and genuinely challenging tests of putting skill.

NATURE EXPLORING Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, Cathedral Grove, Rathtrevor Provincial Park, Top Bridge, Mt. Arrowsmith and Notch Hill are all popular spots.

NEWCASTLE ISLAND PROVINCIAL PARK  Take a ferry (summer months) to Newcastle Island Provincial Park and explore the mining history, play at the playground, beachcomb, hike around the Island or swim in Kanaka Bay. The ferry leaves from in front of the playground in Maffeo-Sutton Park.

QUALICUM BEACH PROMENADE  There is an extended parking area along the Qualicum Beach Promenade with a public walkway under stately shaded trees—just the spot for a leisurely picnic, or a quick ice cream and the chance to stick your feet into the sand and ocean on a hot day.

SKATE PARKS  The skateparks are a hit with local and visiting teens, open to skateboarders, BMX riders and inline skaters. Parksville and Qualicum Beach Community Parks.

TIGER LILY FARM  Visit the "Barnyard" and enjoy mingling with the variety of typical farm animals. Enjoy a guided trail ride from half-hour excursions to full-day trips.

WESTWOOD LAKE is one of Nanaimo’s more popular freshwater summer swimming spots with a sandy beach and playground. There is a forest path around the lake for walking, running and biking, a campground, plus access to Mount Benson and Westwood Ridge hiking.
