BARD TO BROADWAY THEATRE SOCIETY Bard to Broadway has selected the following shows for 2016: A ... You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Ladies Man and Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike. Shows performed at the Village Theatre in Qualicum Beach.

MINI GOLF  Riptide Lagoon Adventure Park features two 18-hole courses with each hole creatively themed! Perfect for family fun and entertainment.

FARMERS’ MARKETS  Farmer’s markets offer fresh produce, baked goods and items created by local crafters. There is always music playing and activities for kids. Check out the Errington Farmer’s Market and Qualicum Farmers’ Market. The Nanaimo Farmer’s Market offers fresh produce, crafts and homemade goodies, as well as music and entertainment downtown on Front Street every Friday from 10am to 2pm (May to Sept).

HERITAGE FOREST  The Heritage Forest protects 50 acres of coastal Douglas Fir forest, including a significant stand of trees over 400 years old. Enjoy the quiet solitude of this lush coastal forest jewel.

SAILING & KAYAKING  Visit the area’s 16 uninhabited islands by sailboat, or rent a kayak with some of the area’s local tour operators. Cameron Lake and Spider Lake are kayaking destinations.

BUTTERFLY WORLD  In nearby Coombs, Orchid Gardens Butterfly World offers visitors the chance to explore their indoor gardens of butterflies, tropical birds and exotic orchids. They also feature a big bug jungle and turtle pond.

NORTH ISLAND WILDLIFE RECOVERY CENTRE  Nestled in the district of Errington, you will be able to view eagles, several species of owls, falcons, hawks, ravens and black bears. During the summer months, live raptor presentations are available.

QUALICUM FISH HATCHERY  Take a tour of the fish hatchery and learn about the amazing life cycle of the salmon in BC. Have an eye-to-eye encounter in the underwater viewing area.

LITTLE QUALICUM FALLS PROVINCIAL PARK  Qualicum Falls incorporates the entire southern shore of Cameron Lake, adjacent to MacMillan Provincial Park. The falls, lake swimming, shaded riverside trails and picnic facilities make Little Qualicum Falls a very popular family recreation destination.
