Canmore/Kananaskis
Nestled in deep in the Bow Valley, beneath the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies, Canmore is a haven in the wilderness. The cinematic beauty of the area has made it a popular Hollywood setting, and the lands around town have served as a backdrop for films such as Legends of the Fall, Dances with Wolves, Mystery Alaska, The Edge, XMen 2 and Snow Dogs. The crowned peaks of the Three Sisters and the jagged spires of Banff National Park can be seen from every street corner, making a simple walk down Main Street a treat for the senses. In 1980 the Alpine Club of Canada made Canmore its permanent headquarters and the 1988 Winter Olympic Games brought world attention to the town.
